EXTERIOR FACADE

In wooden structures in Ottoman Architecture, We meet with wooden exterior facades as boarding using Weather Boarding (also known as Siding) technique in the beginning and mortise and tenon technique later on. In Weather Boarding technique, it is basis that top course consisting f boards of 15-20 cm in width is floored by overlapping it on the lower course in 2-3 cm. As for motrise and tenon system (interlocking), it is essential that boards with the same width are floored by interlocking them. In both methods, if building or structure to be worked is ancient monument, the most important matter is to follow the existing originality when maintaining in the current parts free of any damages in the best way and repairing the damaged parts. For the reason that, each element on these historic buildings which have succeeded in surviving during generations from the past till now and brought numerous cultural richness is of a cultural inheritance. Likewise, we follow that such tired ancient monuments are survived with reasonable interventions at the correct times rather than that they are destroyed and rebuilt provided that one makes authentic construction (this expression means to attempt to imitate the structure only photographically. It is impossible to place its historic identification). Our opinion is a clear statement of our respect that we have felt to the past culture. Then, what do we make?
Firstly, we follow to make restoration as we have mentioned above. Secondly, we bear the inheritance that we have mentioned when covering your building which you have constructed using today’s technology. But, we surely do that without fully imitating a work of art! In order to hold you in peace and quiet which will be generated by this cultural texture coming from the past by utilizing our past architectural culture’s manufacturing techniques and benefiting from the entire architectural elements of the ancient times on the subject containing a value of art,

We bring you together with SAMART.

Sincerely Yours,
