RELIGIOUS STRUCTURES
First of all, we would like to mention architectural building elements that put forth interior richness of our religious structures.
Mihrabs
Mihrab is the niche which indicates direction of qibla in mosques and masjids and is useful for Imam to make the Namaz perform by standing in front of the community. Mihrabs are always carefully ornamented structures since they are focal points to which all the community turn towards.
Minbars
Minbar is the case of adjective “Nebr” which mean “High” in Arabic. This is the rostrum where preacher ascends to address to community. When we can see adornments such as carving, ivory or inlaying with solid wooden fillets or Kündekari in wooden minbars, we can see that stone minbars are equipped with grids or patterns consisting of combination of various color stones.
Sermon rostrums
Sermon rostrum is called as high couch where is used for Imam or a person who will give a sermon or lessons in Mosques, which is stationary or moving with high riser, or where can be ascended through step ladder.
